Model 453: Two-Wire Conductivity Transmitter

Model 453

Download Literature on this Item

IC CONTROLS has incorporated microprocessor technology into the two-wire transmitters. Conductivity measurement can be critical to your process and must be strictly monitored and maintained. Analyzer intelligence goes beyond measurement and control, providing the user with calibration data including sensor cell constant, range and diagnostics. Information can be communicated for trending or advanced control, even to remote locations. Ultimately, the user has superior control with a competitive advantage.

The analyzer stores the last calibration record Settings can be viewed, functions tested, and calibration updated using the front panel keypad without opening the enclosure.

These analyzers / transmitters are 2-wire 24 VDC operated. Installation costs are less because no 115/240 VAC is needed at the transmitter field location. They require a separate 24 VDC supply and typically a 4-20 mA receiver.

The industrial two-wire conductivity transmitter from IC CONTROLS, the Model 453, gives you maximum flexibility, reliability, and ease of use. The transmitter is easily applied and panel mounts in a standard DIN size RFI/EMI-resistant case, with options available for pipe or wall mount. When needed, a very rugged explosion proof case, option -9, is also available.

The model 453 is not just a transmitter, it is a full conductivity analyzer! You get full sensor functions, standardize (cell constant calibration) and auto range adjustment, plus independent, program-adjustable 4-20 mA zero and span. Even with old deteriorated sensors, you enjoy higher accuracy over broad conductivity ranges. This analyzer corrects for sensor condition to give corrected precision readings.

Easy program does what you expect
Easy Maintenance
Use Any Style of Electrode
Use Either of the Following

Note: The Model 453 is 24 VDC two-wire loop-powered and requires a source of 24 VDC power somewhere in the loop.

Model 606: SS Body Ball Valve Retractable pH Sensor, with Anti-Blowout Lip

Model 606

Download Literature on this Item

The IC Controls model 606 was designed to provide reliable pH measurement in demanding applications where pressure cannot be reduced to zero for electrode removal. The IC Controls models 605 and 617 also can handle the service. However, for safety reasons, some users prefer a positive anti-blowout lip that cannot pass through the insertion gland. The 606 provides that lip and optional safety lanyards for the ultimate double-safe design.

The model 606 sensor meets the requirement for a ball valve insertion sensor in pulp & paper stock lines and other difficult applications.

The small cross-section steel housing with epoxy-encapsulated sensor better survives the rigors of direct insertion into dense stock. Larger-diameter sensors are more subject to pressures that can cause breakage during insertion and removal caused by bending of the electrode.

This sensor was originally requested as a replaceable cartridge style. However, cartridges experienced drifting and premature failure due to moisture reaching the BNC fitting on the back of the electrode cartridge. The model 606 single-piece epoxy-encapsulated electrode eliminates the moisture problem and provides long, trouble-free operating life.

Model 650: Economical Two-Wire pH Transmitter

Model 650

Download Literature on this Item

IC CONTROLS brings you economy in a two-wire microprocessor transmitter. The 50-series microprocessor makes these transmitters flexible and easy to use. The transmitter is easy to install in a surface-mounting 10x10x10 cm (4x4x4 inch) size NEMA 4X (IP 65) water-shedding and corrosion-resistant plastic case, which can be supplied with pipe- or panel-mount kits.

Electrical hook-up is easy and economical! The 50-series transmitters operate on a two-wire twisted pair, 24 volt DC circuit. Because of the microprocessor we recommend a ground too. Both the power and its 4-20 mA output signal are carried on the same two wires. A side-mounted quick connect fitting makes it very simple to connect the wiring. Sensor connections are similarly quick-connected on the bottom.

Operation is simple. Without opening the case, users can view the sensor reading, the temperature in the sensor, and the last calibration record. Calibrations can be done without opening the enclosure using only the front panel keypad. Sensor health can be examined by viewing its memory records of sensor cell constant when calibrated and/or a list of Analyzer Expert error codes. Ultimately, the user enjoys the sense of being in control, which is a real advantage.

The model 614 sensor is the suggested sensor for use with the 650. Order sensors with option -77 "quick-connect" fitting.
